ABOUT TCCC

The Texas Consumer Credit Coalition is an organization comprised of national installment lenders who provide underwritten, fixed rate, fixed term loans primarily to customers with limited access to credit from traditional lenders. Members are licensed by the Texas Office of Consumer Credit Commissioner and regulated in accordance with Chapter 342, Subchapter E of the Texas Finance Code as well as a number of federal regulations including the Truth in Lending Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and the Equal Credit Opportunity Act.

The Coalition and its members support regulations that ensure safe and affordable credit is available to customers to pay down high interest debts, medical bills, debt consolidation, or assistance with other life events. Such regulations allow community-based lenders to serve more Texans while increasing the State’s revenue and tax base.

In addition, the Coalition supports financial literacy initiatives that empower Texas high school students and adults to become better stewards of their personal finances.

The TCCC is committed to working closely with state regulators and elected officials to continue to provide a safe, affordable product to customers with less than perfect credit profiles who do not qualify for loans from banks, credit unions, or credit card providers.
